Pros

- Well-funded business with lots of interesting dynamics at play (monthly subscription model, two-sided marketplace) in a growing industry; as result, lots of interesting work to be done and great growth opportunities for employees - Strong executive-level leadership that exercises sound judgment in prioritizing resources and promotes a true "marketplace of ideas" intellectual culture where everyone is encouraged to debate/dissent and the best ideas win the day, regardless of where/who they came from - Optimal work culture for strong performers; you're expected to and will be rewarded for hard work, but you can generally set your own hours and take time off/work remotely when needed - Most people who work here are just genuinely nice people; I give the founders a ton of credit for generally hiring kind, non-toxic people in the early days of the company which proliferated over the years

Cons

- Mostly typical startup/growth stage company stuff; can be hard to feel like you're "on top" of everything given the sheer number of moving pieces at any one time, and there's so much to be done (in a good way!) that work can feel very consuming if you don't actively manage your own work-life balance

Stepping stone, not a career

Pros

- You can wear leggings to work/the office environment is relaxed - Some snacks/free food and cold brew - People are generally friendly and nice - Discounted/free CP membership - Team/company events and happy hours

Cons

There is a type of girl that works at ClassPass. Anyone who doesn't fit into that mold immediately feels it. However, almost everyone is welcoming and nice, but just from an observational standpoint, the office is super cookie-cutter. On the CX Team, you will not have a career. Blunt, but true. You will be told there is room for growth (what company would say otherwise, though?) but what that really means is you can just take on more work on CX. Moving to another team is rare/unheard of/doesn't happen. You can be overqualified for the role/have outside skills that are applicable to another team/role and express you want to eventually grow and move to possibly another team or pursue other interests and it won't matter. It is a dead end and its disappointing to be mislead on multiple occasions. I think the role is a good job as a stepping stone to other things and there is some flexibility with scheduling, so if you're a new college grad I say it is a fine first step, but if you are looking for career advancement and skill development then steer clear. Managers also are inexperienced and promoted based on ambiguous factors - just because you are efficient doesn't mean you make a good manager. A manager needs to be a strong leader, empathetic, but also encouraging. Many team managers on CX should not be managers and typically flex their power muscles just because they can, which is not a good quality of a team leader. Policy also seems to be cloudy/applied at certain points and not to all team members, which shows how unorganized the structure really is and how unclear communication is amongst leadership and management.
