Pros

Good pay and benefits, lots of engineering jobs. Potential for promotion and recognition when you do your job well.

Cons

the auto industry can be stressful depending on your job. Good place to figure out if you like the corporate setting but need to force management to encourage work/life balance rather than just saying it's there.

Pros

- Good team to work with (though this might depend a lot on the team you're working for) - Actual Software development work is interesting - Good work/life balance (never really had to work much overtime) - Flexible work hours

Cons

- Below average remuneration with very small salary increases over the years - Due to being a big company, very confusing management hierarchy - Highly process oriented and a lot of time can be wasted upon this (I understand process is important; but it has to be updated to match the projects' current needs/requirements)

Nationalistic and Division centric

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Flexibility to be empowered to act (within reason). There are some good low level managers. Non-management personnel in other divisions are very willing to be helpful and network and assist, this will be your greatest asset.

Cons

Corporation is owned by German counterparts. Internal atmosphere has presence that pushes if your origins aren't from Europe then you are a lesser being. Not open to collective ideas unless its their own. Local US side management isn't bad until you start going up the ladder then it degrades. Wanting values only of their own and will expect you to reduce your ethics to met their agendas. Very disappointed. Will be brought in with all kinds of ideas and values only to find it is just a front. Conform or else. (German management will frown on division interaction, very silo thinking internal competition amongst divisions)
