Service Centers are out of control by abusive supervisor, management, and upper management teams. They talk about leading with their head, heart and guts because it is the corporate view but no one enforces it at the station levels. It’s a revolving door - supervisors, drivers, and part time workers- the most talented move on and the abuse continues. Gas cards don’t work, no reimbursement when you use your own money to return to station, they constantly call your private cell phone to give directives because they don’t have enough scanners, they write you up if you don’t answer calls from them while you’re driving- knowing it’s illegal to use cell phones while driving in Illinois. They tell you not to speed or back up but hurry up to make pick ups they call you that need to be made within 25 minutes or you’ll get a warning letter. I was 2 minutes late due to traffic and I received a written warning. This is not a professional environment and this is why unions are necessary to protect employees and in this case even the global company.

You will only progress if you are a bully or gay. Some seniors are outright nasty and agresdive and have been pulled up a number of times for bullying but have not been disciplined. Supervisor has repeatedly had team members raise complaints against him for bullying, lack of support and nothing has been done so they leave or they are managed out of the business Because they are such a PC company they have focussed on backing gay staff over straight staff. I know people who sit at their desks crying because they need help in the role and the senior is too busy chatting to friends and the supervisor is ignoring them or trying to ensure the young gay apprentice has the best stats. The company set strict covid rules but seniors are ok to make people so Ill they are taken away by ambulance and feel it's ok to be touching that person whilst they are unable to defend themselves. The HR are so lame they won't deal with the bullying and the customs department has a revolving door so many staff come and go.
