      Pros

      The best parts about Deloitte are the smart, motivated, intelligent people, the great paid vacation time (we get 23 days plus lots of holidays), good pay (and great raises compared to industry), and the fact that it is an overal great company! Everyone here takes pride in where they work and knows that they were one of the FEW selected in a HUGE pool of candidates for these jobs.

      Cons

      The downsides of working at Deloitte are the long hours that must be put in at times, the everyday stress of balancing multiple clients and engagements, and the travel required at times.

      “Compensation at Deloitte is excellent. They seem to reward the top performers, but the average performers do just as well. Leadership needs to focus on truly differentiating between the 1s and 3s. Deloitte has some of the smartest people within industry, and they put out some great thought pieces. There's always an expert if you need one.”

      Cons

      “The pressure to make partner gets old after a while. Up or out used to work when consulting had the best talent the market had, but that has not been the case in the last few years. I have seen some great SMs leave because they did not want the pressure, and the high risk, of being a partner. There is definitely an old boy network at Deloitte. If people want you to succeed they will "give you numbers," and you will make it.”

      Pros

      Decent salary coming right out of college. Especially if you weren't able to go to a top 20 school. Great working in a relatively young environment. Eighty percent of the office is going to be under 30. The vacation time is great. All of my other friends who started in industry only get 2 weeks a year, I get 5 weeks.

      Cons

      Work is kind of repetive, boring. The fratish atmosphere (e.g., constant drinking, etc.) gets old pretty quick. Need to find some way other to hang out with the team besides constantly going to a happy hour. The employer matching contribution in the 401(k) plan kind of sucks compared to KPMG.
