Depends Largely on the Franchise Owner

Pros

Free coffee, 2 weeks vacation.

Cons

Most of your employees are older burnouts or high-school kids who don't care. So employees are a revolving door. Also salary pay but you are essentially always on call to cover the store.

Pay is decent for area, don’t expect breaks

Pros

The pay at my location was average to slightly low for my area, which I accepted because I knew I’d be moving in a few months and would have trouble getting hired at some better-paying places with similarly low entry requirements.

Cons

The staff is decently friendly, but I regularly work 8 hour shifts and have never taken even a 5 minute break. At our location, the culture is such that you don’t step away from your position for more than 30 seconds to get a drink of water, so it’s not unusual that none of us eat during the day. It’s also more or less expected that you stay later than scheduled if asked, which can be frustrating when you start at 4 am. Work conditions might be better when we’re better staffed, but I doubt it.
