Pros

- The employees are nice. - The Nagarro contractors in the Portland office are some of the best employees for the company.

Cons

- I've never seen a company with so much change. In terms of change, 1 month at Ecova is equivalent to 6 months at a large organization. - Some Project Managers here are a joke, horrible project and people skills. - Business Analysts are non-existent. This creates a huge gap with projects. - Utility platform system is not a long-term solution. Ecova has a really hard time creating long-term solutions. - Director of Product Management killed this company on the Utility side by choosing an off-the-shelf product (3rd party app) that no one has heard of, even though they've been around for almost a decade. First time I've ever seen this. Ecova is already pushing the limits of this app after only using it for a year. Ecova failed to follow the approach of successful companies of building their CRM solution internally. It's sad that Ecova's business relies on an off-the-shelf product within their CRM system. If Ecova is somehow successful, any competitor could purchase the same product. Not smart to say the least.

Pros

Departments outside of the R.E.O. division are professional, diverse and promote honesty & integrity.

Cons

Some employees within the R.E.O. unit act with a "mean girl gang mentality." Some are passive-aggressive. If you are intelligent, assertive, don't silently suffer foolish and unprofessional behavior invariably one is alienated by some team members and a campaign of malicious gossip is employed. If you do not fit into "a comfortable stereotype of an African-American woman" to placate some of the troublemakers' insecurities, you are sabotaged. Essentially, a festering of negativity and hood mentality prevails as the "norm". I have observed unsuspecting good employees become the victims of this ignorant gang mentality.

Pros

Fair compensation and benefits package. Front line employees are the best in the business; a result of the acquired company's hires.

Cons

Where to start... An extremely top heavy organization with so many management "hands in the pot" progress is never achieved, ever. Status quo is the name of the game here. When production employees leave (which is quite often lately) they are rarely replaced; yet, management remains. Too many companies were acquired over the years creating a chaotic and confusing environment as management has utterly FAILED to unite the offices across the country. Poor product delivery and clients are constantly upset creating an uncomfortable work environment. Employee morale is off the charts low; the employee churn makes it difficult to build a solid foundation for building a career. There has been no investment into the multiple, critical databases leaving a fragmented core of the business. The most patronizing part of this management group is they dangle bonuses in front of its employees with seemingly no intent to distribute, but out of the other side of their mouth tout how much growth they've experienced and how profitable they are "thanks to you the employee". My favorite, a VP was overheard saying "work life balance is just a myth"... really?! Believe me, you've proved it. Lastly, metrics mean more than tangible results. If you can game metrics while achieving nothing, you'll fit in well here. Oh, and Ecova is now owned by a French company. Good luck Cofely.
