Unfortunate Choice

Pros

Good benefits in terms of health care and medical, and good employee stock benefits plan; work is easy with no pressure to perform at all, almost a vacation on the job since there is no accountability regarding performance

Cons

No internal department training, even outside training requests were refused; no possibility of pay increase or advancement nor any respect for employees; poor internal communication among departments; French parent company suspicious of US affiliate, so everything requires French approval; lots of turnover, so old employees zealously defend their turf

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Its the only reason people stay. They lock you in with a three year long term bonus that you forfeit once you leave.

Cons

Management are all yes-men to Europe. The HR department does not care about people they only care about headcount and reducing it. They make empty promises of promotions and raises and have had a freeze on these for the last three years.
