Pros

Some functional areas are better to work in than others. Benefits are standard. Hybrid work flexibility.

Cons

Electrolux in NA has a serious leadership problem. The company recently did a mass layoff for thousands of employees due to financial issues caused by poor leadership decisions. What type of company lays off thousands of their most tenured employees right before Christmas? The "culture" is based on butt-kissing and brown-nosing. Experience and education will rarely help you succeed and advance in this company. Speaking up and speaking on issues is also frowned upon. Electrolux will continue to lose money and lose its value with consumers.

Pros

Wonderful people to work with and some great bonds. Despite the horrible leadership and oppressive managment, we all bonded together and worked hard while being abused. We could have done so much more if there was less management in the way. The pay was good, but was constantly told in IT we "make too much money" and that there were no raises. All while the management enjoyed 30%-100% bonuses and 1 - 3% annual raises. They constantly reworked their titles and jobs roles to give themselves promotions. One IT leader kept changing her role and adding and removing people increasing her salary over 50% in 3 years with that kind of magic. I was given a $300 bonus once and have no idea why. After taxes, they should have kept it. They have moved many services to the cloud which has improved delivery SLAs but are not being managed well so they are cumbersome and ineffective as best. Electrolux tries really hard to be trendy and hip but falls short as it's a company that is still stuck using 1990's management theories and spends too much time catering to younger employees and letting them bully everyone in the building so they don't get upset and retaliate against the company.

Cons

IT is a rudderless mess with no real idea as to what IT should look like. The core leadership of IT in North America has almost zero IT experience to speak of. When you do figure this out the become abusive and start the process to work you out of the company and subjugate you while they stab you in the back at every turn. There is absolutely NO Disaster Recovery Plan for North America or the entire company for that matter. There is NO business continuity plan either for any location. The short signed leadership with almost no experience has no idea how that should look or how to engineer it. Along with that problem they have dismissed and fired everyone who could have gotten them there because in that conversation they don't listen and feel like they are being lectured when the truth is they are just ignorant on how large IT works. They hire and promote people, not on experience or talent, but on your sex and your race. It's absurd. Younger employees are allowed to bully and terrorize anyone who disagrees with them and it's supported. Older more experienced employees are seen as a problem to the organization when in reality, they are disliked for being smart enough to solve the problems the IT management can't but due to their egos won't allow. The leadership as a whole is not overly ambitious either. They flounder on all kinds of issues from quarter to quarter and then act surprised when things go badly. As a company, they fail at marketing products in North America because they refuse to actually get in front of the consumers and then have the audacity to blame the market, consumers, and raw materials costs for the financial problem.
