A great global workplace

Pros

One of the best things about working at Electrolux is the diversity. On our team, which has 8 people, we have 4 continents represented. I love being able to get different cultural viewpoints just by turning to my left or right. Being in a global role, this is very valuable. I have a great manager who trusts me and allows me to take responsibility, so I am not micro-managed. I have freedom to make the decisions I need to to move forward and see results. I really enjoy the people I work with and there is not anyone within our business unit that I would not be willing to work with closely on a project. As a rule, I find that the people in the Stockholm office are very open and helpful, and I like that you can call Group Management members by their first names (like any other employee). Our Stockholm office has a great atmosphere and the food is wonderful. Since we use our own professional equipment and chefs, the meals are restaurant quality, there's a great selection and the prices are rock bottom compared to the rest of inner city Stockholm. Keith McLoughlin is a leader that people want to follow. He always conducts himself with integrity and respects those around him. He is very down-to-earth, personable and approachable. Several years I rode the subway home with him and he was not afraid to chat.

Cons

Electrolux is a large company and it can take a long time to get things done and then communicate the change throughout the organization. It can be a struggle to collaborate between global functions or sectors and functions. A difference in priorities is the reason for this. The company is taking steps to work on cross-collaboration, but when people are stressed or there is a lack of resourcing, collaboration is the first to go. If you work on a global level, the divide can seem very big and you wonder if it will ever be bridged. A seeming lack of resourcing can make work stressful at times but managers seem to be very understanding in the face of different life circumstances (sick children, personal illness, parental leave). Compared to other companies in Sweden the stress seems high. While diversity is a company strength, sometimes it can be challenging to work with people in other regions because of cultural misunderstandings or different communication styles, but that is par for the course. If you are willing to learn and are interested in bridging cultures, this is not a problem and can be quite fun (if not humorous).

Pros

Great Company, multicultural, great products, great brands, European management well organized, LATAM operation very poor in values,

Cons

Poor Ethic level, difference between what they say and what they do is very big. Talks about dreams, management in LATAM is nightmare.
