Pros

Good work timings, work at home

Cons

Bad management - office politics are common at every company, but here certain managers tend to treat you differently based on their personal experiences with you. HR is not supportive at all.

Thank you for this review. At Elsevier, our people are our strength so we put them first. We are constantly improving our processes. The general culture of Elsevier is supportive as we believe that we are a people-oriented business. However, as a global business with various large business units, we understand that there could be a few challenges. Overall, we are unified in our efforts to continue to build an environment that is collaborative, supportive, nurturing and inclusive. We encourage you to partake in this by identifying other ways to further contribute to these improvement efforts. We encourage you to speak to your manager or if you prefer, contact us anonymously at elseviergdrev@elsevier.com to discuss any issues further.

Pros

- Good amount of holidays (in Germany) - Remote work (if manager approves)

Cons

- Lack of gender equality and inclusion - Managers constantly abusing their power and position - Lack of team spirit - Boring and cold environment - Processes and protocols are long, extensive and old-fashioned - Not modern, not up-to-date - Constant underestimation of employees by upper management - Upper management ignores problems and focuses only on maintaining things as they are - Budget for travel & learn very restricted - Not attractive for young people - Titles and years of experience are more important than ideas and motivation
