Pros

Excellent expat package (at the time of employment); nearly compensated for all frustration.

Cons

After working for Irish owned/Ireland based companies for a decade, joining Amdocs (through acquisition) was like being drafter to the Army. The company structure has several, rigid layers; the upper management is inaccessible. It was very difficult to get things done, no informal routes, results can only be achieved by escalation upwards. There were many unkept promises, and even the ones kept were greatly delayed (I have been awarded and the award (a new laptop...) arrived almost a year after it was promised). The corporate policy seemed to be: deliver results that just meet agreed quality/functionality and fix issues later; do it as cheap as possible. Amdocs said before acquisition that they need our experience, the skilled people; but of course they only needed the existing customer base. They did not make anyone redundant, but (actively) let the situation deteriorate to the level where people rather voluntarily resigned.

Pros

Used to be a great place ro work, Not any more.

Cons

Completely Israel & Israeli focused. Current layong off 30 percent employees globally. But Israel is limited to 10 percent owing to Israeli shareholders. Only global organization in which the entire HR management is in Israel. So Amdocs is not really “global”. The management doesnt know how to become truly global. Most acquisitions are no longer contributing to the revenue. If you are in high cost country except Israel, dont expect growth.
