Pros

Company shares are worth investing Flexibility to work from home available for few departments

Cons

People who are close to directors or VP's are promoted eventhough they are not worth a penny. The worst part is able candidates are pushed down or to side and will be forced to work under these kind of "promoted" leaders. These folks after getting a promotion just dictate around and make the life of people around miserable. A lot of them have only seen the life in Assurant and have no knowledge of how the industry works...I agree with a lot of comments here..If you have a god father in the form of Director or VP , please come and work here..you are going to lead a pleasant life. Else please don't...What ever experience or knowledge you have outside the company won;t help you to climb up the ladder..You will be just pushed to the corner...Regarding Pay, its peanuts not to mention there is no bonus in this company. So all you get is a minimal 2-3% hike unless you are in those buddy list of directors who decide the "top performer" list. There are gold and platinum rewards named ICUE's and most of the time these awards also go to those "street smart" folks and not to mention the recent trend towards outsourcing which already has reduced the employee morale a lot.

Pros

Remote work across all lines of business allows for a flexible work environment

Cons

There is almost no opportunity for growth. The company laid off quite a few employees recently as part of a planned reduction in force while also reporting its highest quarterly earnings. There's no loyalty to tenured employees.
