Depending on your team and beat, you can get the time to do ambitious enterprise stories. I like the collaboration that is encouraged in the newsroom
Cons
Navigating the bureaucracy is difficult. Having political capital is necessary to be successful. The newsroom gets overhauled every two or so years. Some reporters can be really cutthroat and competitive.
