Pros
I started pretty entry level at what was then Appboy but is now Braze... Through some hard work and with the help of mentors at a few spots throughout the company, I'm in what I'd consider to be my "dream role." I'm not sure if it's the company size or the people, but I really appreciate how anybody and everybody here has relationships with other regardless of position or team. I see myself being here a good long time. As a salesperson, it's good to be able to back up what you're trying to sell with the actual tech and customer references. It's always felt like we've been punching above our weight class, and lo and behold, we reach that next level a few months down the line. I've referred maybe 5 people in now and a lot of the org has been built off of high quality referrals, meaning new folks don't require that much ramp.
Cons
There are always cons. I, like all other salespeople, want more leads and better communication with marketing. We've got a new CMO so I'm optimistic. We're getting super cramped in the NYC office, but there's a new one coming end of month, so I'm hoping it's nice! I personally like a startup vibe - it's cozy, friendly, and scrappy. While that's in the roots of many people who have been here since the beginning, it's definitely not a startup anymore so if you're looking for a fun place to kick back this probably ain't it.
