The purpose of nourishing people (moving and supplying food from areas of surplus to areas of need) is very compelling. The Guiding Principles of the company are sound and they are lived in the culture every day.
Cons
Very internally focused, and in tough times relies of "saving your way to prosperity" instead of innovation and calculated risk taking.
