Pros

It is a very dynamic place to work. On one assignment you could be a technical solution architect but if the partner or the engagement manager feels you have potential can give you a much different role in the very next assignment. So, career growth is a possibility if one has the initiative and the ability to lead/deliver to expectations. Client satisfaction is a major priority - so if you are involved in client service, you are in a great position to influence how the rest of the organization provides services to clients. Opportunities exist all around the globe and if one is mobile, can go places, experience different types of clients across industries etc.

Cons

The company needs to focus on improving the work-life balance of its workforce. There are two major components in the business and the ones with Consulting type work, have a very lopsided work-life balance.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
