Pros
Good work-life balance keeps people
Cons
I spent several years at Cognyte, and honestly, it was a pretty frustrating experience. The culture is toxic, and it’s not just one bad manager, it feels baked into the system. A lot of decisions are clearly driven by internal politics instead of what actually makes sense professionally, which gets exhausting after a while. You can care about doing things right, but it often doesn’t matter. Day to day, things feel messy and not very professional. Priorities keep changing, there’s no real consistency, and there’s a lot of micromanagement. You’re expected to deliver, but without clear direction and at the same time you don’t really get the autonomy to do your job properly. One thing that really stood out to me is the lack of diversity, especially when it comes to *women* in technical roles. In some teams it’s very noticeable, and the environment doesn’t always feel welcoming or supportive if you’re not part of the majority. After a while it just feels like you’re stuck in a place where growth is limited and the atmosphere wears you down. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a healthy work environment.
