Pros

Although the perks are good, the rest is not

Cons

They continually take things from the employees (bonus, incentive, etc.) to ensure the executive board still gets their yearly payout, that is disgustingly high. Even if one of them forfeited their share, the employees would not suffer. Team leads become friends with workers and favouritism is quite rampant through out Don’t want to worry about job security? Look elsewhere because Eco has none of that

We agree that Economical offers a rewarding pay and perks package that includes flexible benefits, pension and savings programs, paid personal needs days, wellness campaigns, and paid volunteer days. We think it’s one of the top reasons so many people join our team. You mentioned our employee incentive bonus, which is paid out according to the business meeting specific financial targets. Happily, it’s been paid out many more times than not over our long and successful company history, but it’s something that cannot be guaranteed in a challenging, competitive market. We’re sorry you were unhappy with turnover and job security. While we offer a positive work environment where employees can choose to stay for a satisfying career, turnover rates are growing in all industries. With the Canadian employment rate at an historic high, people have more choices, and frequent career changes are more common. Likewise, expectations are rapidly changing on the job security front. We’re confident those who join our team benefit from growing their professional skills, accomplishments, and networks with us, which will enhance their career options in the long run. Pros

Here's something fun: Petline hasn't launched yet but they've already made me a better pet-parent. Now certainly, "become a better pet-parent" wasn't one of my goals when I accepted the role, but I've been surprised a few times by my personal growth since I joined the team. On career goals I'll say this: to the credit of the management team at Petline, they've recognized talents and areas I where I thrive before I did. I've been given opportunities that I didn't expect and for which I am deeply grateful. Back to pet-parenting, Petline is a startup and every person at this company is heavily committed to our mission and goals. Just working alongside like-minded folks has made me consider who I am as a pet-parent. I know my pets better than I did before and I know they are happier for it. Petline won't always be a startup, but I'm confident that as we move forward it will be with integrity and the intention to foster an environment where individual strengths are recognized, and weaknesses are supported.

Cons

Petline is a startup and anyone familiar with the concept should know that it takes hard work, a lot of brainpower, and constant flexibility. It can be hard to accept and frustrating when business decisions seem to flow and change like water, but it's rewarding. It might not be for right for everyone, but when it's right, it's right.
