Great pay but bad work-life balance. Good place to start as new hire. - Software Developer Epic Employee Review

Pros

Their in-house food is cheap and delicious. Campus is beautiful. You get your own room instead of working in cubicles. Madison is great town to live with tons of outdoor activities. Works that you do is interesting and help saving lives.

Cons

Terrible WFH policy (5 days per years) and work-life balanced where they expect you to work 45 hours/week without overtime pay (it's written in contract saying the pay reflects this extra effort). I remember asking HR this during my interview and they dodged this question. Management depends on the team, but mine wasn't great with a lot of last-minute pushes every quarter. They track your performance in the background. Promotion is not a thing.

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
