Pros
Free waxing, major holidays and weekend evenings off, most coworkers are fun to be around
Cons
There is a complete disconnect between cooperate, franchisee, managers and associates. While the company itself has the right idea, the franchisees and managers of certain locations have absolutely no idea how to run a business where not only are they successful but their employees are happy. The centers are run like wax factories where upper management and owners have no appreciation or understanding for those they employ. It's almost impossible to get time off no matter how far in advance you request. And if God forbid you have a family emergency or even worse a FUNERAL, they make you bend over backwards to get coverage for your scheduled shifts and if you don't get full coverage you still have to come in. If you're sick? Forget it. Doesn't matter if you're struggling to breathe or bleeding on the floor. They'll send you to the ER and make you come back to finish out the remainder of your shift. The complete disregard for people as human beings completely baffles and disgusts me. They only care about making money from you and the second you don't, they cut you loose. In my 8+ years of work history, this is by far the highest turnover I've ever seen in any company I've ever worked for and by far the most unethical. There are policies in place that everyone should abide by however management always breaks these polices at the expense of their waxers and other employees. You hardly ever get a break besides your lunch and if you do, it's usually a 15 minute break in between guests where you have to make wax which leaves you no time to sit down, drink some water and breathe. They work you like slaves an expect loyalty and respect in return.
