As many of my colleagues previously mentioned on other reviews, the company is forgetting its own values. The town hall with CEO was a show of horrors, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The idea, raised by other people, of forcing employees to resign to avoid more layoffs looks too farfetched but you can almost believe... I joined a couple of months ago with some positive feedbacks from people working at the company. But a lot has changed since then. On the hiring process I was told that although the policy, I wouldn't need to go to the office and that it was a benefit for people living far. That I could even work abroad. I prefer hybrid model and asked if I could use the Boavista office as it was the best option to commute. Positive answer. Well, that office closed not long after I joined and I was said by other employees that the plan was known since last year. One of the lies. As mentioned before, company is forcing people to return to office 2 days a week in days that will be mandatory because there is not enough space for people to go in when better suits them. Not clear what will happen to people living in the islands or remote locations. Further, they advised that Boavista office was being closed because of the lack of occupancy and in the next month they force people to return to office?! If you are joining in a junior position, maybe not a bad place to start. But if you are joining with already some experience, you might want to know more about your team and the management style. Or just run away. The company looks better from outside. I accepted a pay cut to join Farfetch because I wanted more worklife balance, but I made the move based on a lot of lies/ false expectations. Maybe I was not lucky with my management. They lack experience. They don't have the knowledge and will dismiss any contribution that is not aligned with what they think it is best. This means wasting a lot of resources to try to make it work and months later, having to re do it. I believe that I should have been advised that althought the job title was the same, from what they heard in the interviews, it would be a step back in my career. I had the decency to do that to others when I was in the hiring position. I was manipulated with a lot of half trues. Also, I don't understand how rotation can be so high in a team and no one investigates the reason behind it. Other things that you might consider useful before you start: You have to work with Google sheets, no office licence granted Available trainning is Udemy. Very few get paid certifications. You have to use your own phone and plan for oncall. I asked for one and they made a big deal. You do not receive a headset when you join. I think they now grant to people if asked but as most of people don't have headset with noise cancelling, the meetings are very noisy. There is not a lot of money to do anything. No training, no investments, no resilience... They only give you the contract to read in the day you start! Oncall pay is low and it is not rare, more to daily If you are still thinking to sign a contract with Farfetch, have everything written. Don't allow them to tell you one thing to two months later everything is changed. Even the small things, send an email for them to acknowledge that they have agreed with that. In the town hall it was said that people built wrong expectations about working model but I was hired this year and I am pretty sure about who built the expectations. If you can not have things written, don't trust they will last in time. Be carefull with family arrangements you make, they don't give you a lot of time to prepare for changes.
