Pros
- Hard to think of the pros: at the beginning we used to have plenty of flexibility, there was some room for manoeuvre when it came to creating and editing content.
Cons
- My work experience at Groupon has turned out to be one of the worst one I have ever experienced. - No room for manoeuvre or professional growth. - No opportunity to present projects or creative ideas (you're just a number, perfectly designed to produce like a robot). - Micromanagement taken to the extreme. - Impossible targets that did not take into consideration (realistically) the time spent to complete the required tasks. - In the Valencia office, one of the former Team Leaders got a promotion overnight without further explanation to the other employees and without having the position duly posted or published internally for other Groupon employees. The problem here is that she's a very close friend of someone in the leadership positions. When employees asked Groupon for transparency and clarity about this promotion and how the process had been carried out, we received no answer at all from the company, which felt completely unfair and frustrating for all of us. - Bad communication and lack of transparency: communications arrived late, and the information exposed was never clear. The company is currently undergoing several changes. It's one thing to be able to deal with these changing environments and prove to be resilient, it's another thing to have to work with the constant feeling that everything is going to implode at the drop of a hat. I would never recommend working here if you want to stay sane or grow professionally.
