Pros

There are no pros. Wireline Halliburton Macae has nothing good to offer with the current management team.

Cons

No resources, and always blaming you because of their errors and lack of organization. The managers are always lying and then hiding when problems arise. They hire you for one city but they send you wherever they want as punishment. You also have to take a 12 hours road trip using the public bus service from Macae(Offshore jobs base) to arrive to Sao Mateus onshore base. At the moment they have a BSM(Business segment manager) very immature who gets offended easily. Bonuses are really low. Very toxic work environment.

Pros

Great experience, especially if just starting out in oil and gas industry. Lots of industry-leading equipment/tech/etc.

Cons

If you can't handle long hours, harsh conditions (at times), and being away from home for long periods of time, this job isn't for you. My experience at Halliburton was also that many people feel like they're just a number in that management will make frequent (and often sweeping) changes to processes, workflows, engineering schedules, etc. Lots of bureaucratic hoops to jump through in order to advance through the three levels of Field Engineer before you can "break out" and really make good money.
