Good Skills/Overworked Employees - ICU Registered Nurse Hospital Sisters Health System Employee Review

Pros

Due to being in the ICU, you learn a great foundation and skills from physicians and senior nursing staff. The spiritual staff at HSHS are by far the most compassionate and hard working sisters, chaplains, etc. that I have worked with.

Cons

Pay was average at $22-25/hour. ICU nurses are expected to take 3 patient to 1 nurse ratios (all ICU status patients). This is asking for a patient neglect or abuse issue. So many new graduates coming in, that patient safety errors were continuing to happen without management fixing the issues.

Pros

Had good benefits and was wonderful to work in the year 2020-2025. Co-workers were friendly around 2023 and got along great with all of the coworkers.

Cons

There are numerous ones that I do not like about the company. Most of the people I worked with were not friendly, micromanaged and the company sold us out to Ensemble Health Partners which is even worse than HSHS on micromanging. I am pretty upset about them not letting us know at least a year ahead or 6 months that we were moving to Ensemble Health Partners. Everyone who was up for retirement stopped working for HSHS because of us moving to Ensemble Health Partners.
