Pros

One free meal during each shift (I think the quality of the food is quite good myself) Free covered parking Very casual dress Full time benefits Powerful workstations with dual screen monitors

Cons

As others have mentioned, the senior management at HostGator makes it very difficult to enjoy working here which has fostered an overall unpleasant atmosphere between coworkers. Many employees are so terrified of catching the attention of managers that they will quickly throw each other under the bus for no reason at all. And instead of offering constructive criticism, even small mistakes quickly lead to employees being paraded in front of managers to essentially interview for their own jobs again. This leads to employees deliberately withholding information about internal procedures from each other in hopes of gaining some small bit of job security. Overall, it's a horrible environment to learn in. Paid time off is very scarce (5 days per year) and is very difficult to use since management requires employees to find coworkers to cover their shifts. Promotions and raises seem to be determined primarily based on personal relationships with management. A night on the town buying your supervisor drinks is looked upon much more favorably than any accomplishments that can be made in the office. The "Free on-site gym" consists of a treadmill and one weight training machine (both very old and beaten). Employees are required to be logged into their workstations at the start of their shift. Logging in frequently takes ten minutes (or more if it takes a while to find an available workstation) so to be safe they recommend coming in fifteen minutes early (which you aren't paid for). HostGator seems to be one of the very few companies hiring aggressively at the moment and they are very aware of that fact. Expect to be unfairly compensated.
