Pros

You will get to learn and experiment on a ton of technologies.

Cons

Its a captive for headquartered org - JCI. IEC provides services competing with other vendor orgs like Infosys, TCS etc. If you expect to work for an Engg org, then this is not the right place for you. Very very thin on any processes and you will see favoritisms displayed in the open. No demarcation or subtleness or professionalism in the language of the leaders. Literally look at the managers as a version of babus in any government offices. These managers are unskilled, toxic in the use of language and vocabulary. Software Development standards followed are poor. No system design process is ever followed. Eventually systems that are designed using such methods fail. The only critical piece IEC values is delivery on time. Try to look at Delivery manager 's as sales agents who have no clue of programming or software design .

Pros

Decent base pay and fast paced work makes the days go by quickly. Lately the company has been actually investing in their new product lines ever since Joakim became our CEO.

Cons

The compensation is lacking. No bonuses whatsoever for senior level engineers even when they're recognized as a key contributor on the team. We are given our 401k match on March 1st to cover the previous year's matches so you lose out on a lot of the year's market gains. The healthcare coverage is mediocre at best for a fortune 500 company. The raises are still given like it's 2018; 3% is considered a "good" merit increase. This is due to the "forced distribution" merit increase system where only "so many" people can receives "above expectations" raises.
