Pros

1) Used to be a great place to work with a 'community spirit' buzz and reasonable opportunities to develop a career. 2) Management used to have good focus on personnel development and the company used to provide training opportunities for all levels.

Cons

1) Volatility of oil and gas industry in which the company operates 2) No loyalty to employees that have worked and contributed for 10, 20, 30, 40+ years. Sadly, soo many colleagues have been laid-off despite broad perception that the company could do more for its people or ride out the storm of the global pandemic / recession with less numbers axed! Some bold decisions were made to change market strategies, but no follow-through plan in place to retain or re-train majority of the loyal employees . 3) People are worked to the bone! Sadly it makes all the (otherwise good) HSE spiel seem like a crass joke especially w.r.t. mental health and well-being of employees

Pros

Working at KBR provided great experience in compliance, SOP management, KPI reporting, and operational support. The role helped strengthen my attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and ability to support audit-ready processes in a fast-paced environment. I appreciated the opportunity to work independently, improve processes, and collaborate cross-functionally while supporting government and aerospace-related operations.

Cons

I did not personally experience any major cons during my time at KBR. Overall, it was a positive environment that provided strong operational experience, professional growth, and exposure to compliance-driven processes and aerospace support operations.

Pros

Flex time within a pay month, flexible schedules, an outstanding benefits package including a 401k retirement plans with 100% match on 6% of pretax and Roth contribution elections, several investment options, personalized financial planning through fidelity, employee stock purchase program, student debt retirement savings match program, and HSA options; several health insurance options with a wide range of monthly premiums and available benefits, FSA, HSA, vision, dental (Delta Dental), tuition assistance, PTO, holidays, and much more.

Cons

No automatic/across the board annual cost of living pay adjustments, only 5.3 hours total of PTO (with milestone increases for incumbents) each pay period (no separate sick, personal, annual, vacation, etc.), only 9 paid holidays with one floating holiday, no official employee evaluations or measured expectations, many employment pros and cons are dependent on supervisor on the contract - not corporate.
