Pros

brand name, competitive pay, great networking opportunities, great onsite and out of state trainings, generous expense policy, many opportunities to explore different areas of accounting and finance, flexible, rotational opportunities availalbe. this is a big 4 accounting firm and is well respected not only in the accounting industry but in consulting, banking, and industry. experience here will open up many doors.

Cons

direct managers do not have good management experience. in order to succeed you need to become friends with multiple managers and get on going feedback. it might be hard to utilize all the resourses that could be available to you. hours can be long but in general are pretty reasonable.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
