Pros

Tons of time off, and lots of different types of people to interact with.

Cons

Very long hours, not a lot of recognition from management when you do a good job, but tons of feedback when something you do isn't good or is incorrect. There is very little work/life balance, because it is a client-focused company. Travel can be spur of the moment, and for months at a time, with not even a pat on the back when the travel is completed. Bosses can be very two-faced, telling you to do one thing while they do the other. There is not a lot of guidance, and instead they have you keep trying until you get something the way they want it.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
