Pros
WFH flexibility, and convenient location
Cons
I was approached by HR and interviewed for a senior-level position that specifically required 3–5 years of experience. The role was presented as strategic and experience-driven, and the job description reflected that. However, upon joining, I was assigned basic, junior-level accounting tasks that were far below the scope and responsibility promised during the hiring process. To make matters worse, from the very first day, my line manager openly stated that I was overqualified and underpaid for the role. While I appreciated the honesty, it was confusing and disheartening to hear this acknowledged without any action taken to correct it. When I formally raised my concerns, my manager assured me that I would be compensated and recognized appropriately. Unfortunately, this turned out to be an empty promise. There was no meaningful change in responsibilities or recognition. Instead of trying to understand or address the issue, it felt like my concerns were used to further escalate the situation unnecessarily. What could have been a chance for constructive feedback and growth turned into a frustrating and demotivating experience. Overall, this role felt like a complete mismatch, and a waste of my time, skills, and professional energy. I left feeling undervalued, misled, and disappointed by the disconnect between what was promised and what was actually delivered
