Pros
The people have a great work ethic and genuinely care about doing well. The company provides decent benefits and also can be very flexible with hours and working from home.
Cons
HR policies create significant non-value-added work and do not reward experience - excessive requirements for documenting annual job performance, cookie-cutter approaches to 1:1's and anything related to performance, forced ranking promotes scarcity of rewards versus having a culture where there is an over abundance of reward for doing well; incentive for making more money is not based on performance, rather it is based on getting promotions; team leaders and management often have no experience in their department and have no clue or appreciation for what their employees do which seems very counter intuitive to cultivating a successful management structure and establishing highly enabled and engaged workers.
