Pros
The company says it shares 40% of profits with employees. Start and end times are defined and usually very accurate. Nice coworkers who try to do the best under the heavy circumstances.
Cons
While the company boasts of sharing 40% of profits with employees, it is really based on your employment status and number of hours you have worked throughout the year. The hourly wage is low (and could explain why they share some profits - though a lot less than if the employee was paid more per hour). For each store making in excess of $25,000 daily (times over 400 stores - you do the math), paying $10.20-$10.50 an hour is a slap in the face to the employee. Some employees even have advanced college degrees and know more about customer service and business operations than the actual "Store Leader", which is what they call the Store Manager. Additionally, you only get one 20 minute break (for lunch) for working an 8 hour day - no additional breaks!!! This may be a violation of law and public policy, but no one challenges it so the company keeps doing it. There is also a lot of complaining by some shift leaders and daily changes of "how things are done" which causes a lot of frustration. Many employees leave the company; they go thorough a lot of employees - how great can a place be if turnover is high??!! Store management and company representatives will always side with the customer even if the customer threatens you or uses profanity towards you. There is no support from store management or home office to prevent a hostile work environment and keep it safe from the abuse of coworkers or customers. The company always makes you "push" the customer for physical and e-coupons but will always take expired coupons for gas and merchandise. Most stores are so busy that there is a shortage of help (employees leaving the company adds to this). Store management are often condescending and non-supportive towards worker happiness.
