Cons
Pay isn't as good as they advertise - the profit sharing is good but only adds approximately 10% in additional compensation (at best) - Other jobs that offer $2-$3 more per hour would more than make up for the lack of profit sharing (also keep in mind that the profit sharing isn't a guarantee like an increase in hourly rate). There is a lot of turnover at the retail level and the truck driving level, too. That turnover leads to added stress due to training and picking up for inefficiencies since they are new. Each store has a pretty tight budget so having extra employees on any shift is a rarity - good luck if someone doesn't show up. There is usually more work to on a shift than there is staff. You'll be running back and forth all day helping people check out, so if you enjoy constant interruptions and uncertainty, maybe you'll like being a retail associate. There is a culture of the customer is always right, and when they aren't, keep apologizing. Being assertive is risky and when a customer crosses a boundary, be careful because you are more likely to get in trouble than them. It's easier to be passive but leads to mental anguish (at least for me). The year-end meetings feel like a cult ceremony. It seems like a desperate attempt to brainwash employees into thinking that Kwik Trip is the best place to work, and if you disagree, there is something wrong with you. Some lifers would be appalled by this but they are a part of the problem, too. Good luck if you work there, if you don't like it, there are plenty of other opportunities for you elsewhere, in spite of what Kwik Trip tries to brain was you.
