Pros

- Free gym membership and employee discount to everything offered therein - Top of the line facilities with wide variety of things to do - Nice to know that the food is healthy and of actual portion size - They are very flexible with your schedule

Cons

- Pay is way too low for the job expectation. I could make more if I went back to work in a meat department at a nearby grocery store and only have to meet health code standards. - Members are generally alright once they become accustomed to you, until then expect complaints from all sides about everything - Employee turnover has got to be somewhere around 300%. In my department alone, I have seen 25 people come and go within the last year. I've worked many years in retail where the employee turnover is a lot lower than that. The second you get used to someone, they burn out and quit. - And on that note, I have seen very few of those people actually carry out their two weeks notice. By the time they put it in, they are well past the point of caring and they never come back - Seen group fitness people get their legs cut out from under them again and again. Very popular instructors who have no issues filling out one side of the basketball court for a class and instruct 6 days a week suddenly get cut to one Sunday evening class for no reason and then quit out of frustration - Very little to no interaction with people in other departments other than to hear them complain about something - Everything and everybody focuses on the negative. I can cram 8 hours worth of work into 6 and have the club spotless from top to bottom, but I get yelled at because I didn't dust out one light can or have four bins of towels folded for the next shift - Little to no feedback from management who clearly has no idea what is going on in the club and is only negative when you do get feedback - Sales expectations for personal trainers and sales staff are outlandish, leading to an outrageously high turnover - You have to pay for your own uniforms and for CPR and First Aid certifications, all of which are required within the first 90 days of hire. Until now, I have never worked for a company that didn't furnish these things at no cost to the employee if they were going to be expected of employment - Member attrition is very high for a gym. - The steam room gets cleaned three times a day and at roughly the same time each day, but the members are ALWAYS blindsided by the fact that it is down and they ALWAYS complain, and ALWAYS sit near it wearing only towels until it has been reopened as though there is nothing else to do in a 50,000 square foot gym - Coworkers tend to not be as fitness driven as myself - Raises tend to be based around member attrition. If too many members leave, they freeze pay

Pros

Free Membership Cool employees Discounts on services

Cons

They don’t pay anything, and the CEO should honestly be ashamed. If employees were paid properly, there wouldn’t be so much drama and tension in the workplace. Communication is terrible because management doesn’t even seem to care — probably because they’re getting crumbs too. Spa management was dreadful, and the demotion was necessary. How do you fail to have people booked during major holidays when the money and clientele are clearly there? There was no structure, no leadership, and no motivation for employees to succeed. Having a successful spa for 3 years and coming into this environment I was not impressed. No growth, no support, no appreciation. Loved the members tho! And S/O to Leemar, Virgil and Dr. Hayden love them down!
