Pros

Free gym membership, easy day-to-day work

Cons

Not sure if it’s changed but the management was extremely dysfunctional when I worked there. Supervisors would randomly add you to work a shift you weren’t scheduled for whenever they felt like it then straight up not inform you they randomly scheduled you and would get mad when you didn’t show up for that shift. Sometimes we were so understaffed I would be up on stand for 3+ hours straight without the option to use the bathroom (legally lifeguards have to be rotated every 30 minutes, I could not leave the stand to use the bathroom because pools cannot be left unguarded). Also claimed they had a referral bonus of $200 a person but never paid me so referring two people even when I went to management.

Pros

Members are great and free membership is a perk. Coworkers are supportive.

Cons

You will be micromanaged to death, whether you have three weeks of experience or 20 years. Policies are vague. Communication with leadership is poor. You can be a strong, experienced performer and have very few classes, or brand new and get 8 a week. There appears to be no logic or strategy to anything that happens.
