Pros
The only Pros is the new office.
Cons
The customs department in the new GSC Warsaw is a new project which signed the end of good Maersk image. A project without any structure, any idea what are the responsibilities are (which are much lower and different than what shared during the initial interview), and with a big turnover of people. The tasks consists only the 10% of what it was promised at the begging of the interview, is repetitive and monotonous. There is no opportunity to learn new skills because it’s just a back office job performed on the background with no human interaction. The team leaders are so young and they lack of any experience and maturity to lead properly a team. They use manipulation techniques to make people believe but they are no aware that the people are also able to think. Any questions addressed to them, the answer is always “we don’t know” and “we are not sure”, or they deviate the questions by changing topics and jumping to another one which is not related. The team leaders are only locals and recommended by other locals rather than hiring people with qualities. The customs department is made up by only Extra EU citizens with the minimum wage, meanwhile higher and better positions are held only by local people. There is also micromanagement in some teams by checking everything is done. Moreover, useless daily meetings without any results or new things to share but only same things repeated every day, which wasted times and lower the morale. Maybe the Nordic Leaders are not aware of the status of this project and work environment in Warsaw. Everything is going to be tested with temporary contracts and stability. This company is only suitable for students and to gain some first experience in the life. Project turned out as many other toxic outsourcing companies. For sure, Maersk workplace in the Nordic countries is much better than this shared service in Poland.
