Pros

Nike Brand Image, 50% off Nike goods and deferred compensation benefit if you qualify with a minimum salary. Glad to be out of such a fake culture where Nike Lifers are more concerned about getting a workout.

Cons

Anyone being recruited should STOP and first read Phil Knight's Shoe Dog. Nike hasn't changed much and all Hail the Nike Lifers. If you do come to Nike, DO NOT Over-Achieve as this will cause the Nike Lifers to classify you as not fitting into the Nike Culture. Ask around about when you are considered a Nike Lifer. Per one very senior Nike Lifer, I was told that if a person makes it past their 1st Year, they might make it to their 2nd Year. IF they make it past their 2nd Year, they might make it to their 5th Year. IF they make it past their 5th Year, they MIGHT be considered a Nike Lifer. Doesn't matter what you have in your goals as they don't matter. Near the end, I was informed that Nike's unwritten rule is for leaders to network the first 2 years in order to build political capital rather than focus on results. Don't uproot your family for this wasteful company. And if you do, then don't say I didn't warn you. Wish someone had posted this earlier for me.

Pros

Working at Nike was a great experience overall. The company culture is energetic, inclusive, and team-oriented. Management encourages employees to embody the Nike brand and provides opportunities for growth within retail and corporate roles. Employee discounts are excellent and make it easy to enjoy the products you sell. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during launches and holiday seasons, which keeps the job engaging. I also appreciated working alongside passionate teammates who genuinely cared about customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

Cons

Retail schedules can be inconsistent and often include nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak periods, the store can become extremely busy, which can be stressful when balancing customer service expectations with operational tasks. Advancement opportunities can vary depending on store location and management structure.
