Pros
I've been with PlayQ for almost three years and couldn't be happier with my experience. I have enjoyed the fast paced environment and the exposure to so many aspects of the business. I have been given complete control to experiment with various initiatives and learn from trial and error. In a larger company, you usually don't have this type of flexibility and it's something that I love most about my role. I also appreciate the caliber of professionals that PlayQ attracts and because of this, I am constantly learning and developing from everyone on our team. Everyone here wants to accomplish great things and that energy is contagious. I have learned so much directly from the founders since they have taken an active role in my development and professional growth since day one. They have empowered me to have a voice and make a real impact on our company. In addition, our office space is beautiful - ocean views, prime downtown Santa Monica location, lounge w/ VR and arcade, modern/clean design and tons of natural light. All of these things inspire me to do my best work. The company hosts fun monthly team events and weekly lunches but I personally love that our team has taken initiative to organize events on their own like game nights, volunteer opportunities, escape room outings...etc. People genuinely enjoy each other's company and it doesn't get better than that.
Cons
If you are looking for a company that tells you exactly what to do and how to do it - then this isn’t for you. PlayQ is a group of self-starters who are passionate and naturally motivated to be the best at what they do. Some people might not be comfortable with that type of environment, but I personally thrive in it.
