Pros
- OK Starting salary - 15th month bonus - Interesting engineering work at the R&D center - Very nice colleagues - They mostly treat people in a respectful and professional manner - Large budget for training - Nice installations - Flextime - Good name on CV
Cons
- Long, long , long hours (10h to 12h days are the norm) - No paid overtime whatsoever, so hourly salary is fairly low - Too much work for to few people - Expect a lot of inexperienced hires every year, and when they have some experience, they leave for better opportunities. As such, not many people really know much about the work, knowledge vanishes pretty quickly, and must be re-learnt again and again. - HR system automatically docks overtime at 50h, so when you work more than 50h overtime (normal after a couple of months), it will never show - Every project is rushed to get to the market ASAP, resulting in poor product quality and many client complaints - Initial salary OK, but it takes forever to grow (4+ years) and is not proportional to the daily effort they demand from you - Career growth is lackluster. It happens mostly due to office politics, and mostly for those who "drink the corporate Kool-aid" - Constant speeches about how "We only want the best" and "We are the best company to work in Portugal" by HR and management is really tiring after a while, and doesn't help solve any of the company's problems
