Pros
I worked as an Algorithm developer, a Product owner, finally an Agile master. The local team at Budapest was super friendly and supportive, as well as with a curious engineer mind-set. I had to collaborate with teams mainly located in Germany - frequent travels helped to create the trust we needed. My direct supervisors were helpful and tried their best to support my career path by providing growth opportunities, experience and mentoring. The job felt secure, the environment decent, the salaries fair. Also I found it easy to fit in as a female software engineer, I still have great friends from the place even after resigning.
Cons
The original focus of the company is around hardware development (electronics, mechanics). They have a hard time learning and managing a good culture for software development to the standards of the software industry, leading to lots of blockers that could have been avoided, wasting time on infrastructure issues, struggling with complex project management. Line managers are usually very technical and operational, with all the pro-s and con-s associated with that. Also career advancements are slower than other places, having the same credentials.
