Pros
The money is decent sometimes, but absolutely not worth it.
Cons
I have legitimately never been more disrespected in my life than when I worked as a server at Texas Roadhouse in Stillwater Oklahoma. The entire environment is like a toxic cult in which one has to deal with absurd amount of BS that absolutely does not matter and constantly kiss management’s butts in order to be put in a good section (which determines your pay) or receive a shred of respect or decency. If you fail to meet any of their ridiculous expectations (i.e., work like an obedient dog), management will try to “correct” you via public humiliation in front of your co-workers or putting you a section where you have to work twice as hard to make half as much money and giving you back work that last until well after midnight - even in a pandemic. Throughout the whole pandemic, they failed to consistently enforce mask-wearing policies with *anyone* in the restaurant, and pressured employees into working while feeling sick or having awful mental health days by offering no flexibility in shifts (EVER, unless you’re one of their best friends), or else they’d punish you with bad sections and back work for weeks, and berate you consistently. That’s only the highlights.
