Pros

None anymore. They used to treat employees well, but now just talk about compassion and empathy while doing the opposite.

Cons

Everything. This is an empty company that is all about ideas, but no substance. They claim that taking care of patients is what drives the success of the company, but in reality, they reject every claim they possibly can to maximize profits at the patients expense. That was fine while they were treating employees fairly, but now they have engaged in a “Return to Work “initiative that is forcing everybody within 50 miles of a Cigna office to commute , including people that have worked from home for over 15 years and took the job because of it. Almost all of the employees at this company are irate over this decision and David Cordani remains tone deaf and will not listen to feedback. He acts like a politician that never answers employees concerns. He continues to speak about compassion and empathy, yet inflicts maximum stress and anxiety on his employees by forcing them to unnecessarily commute, resulting in them spending less time with their families and more money on gas and tolls in an inflationary environment where people are already struggling to make ends meet. David Cordani used to be a great CEO, but it is clear that time has passed him by. He used to embrace remote work and speak of being on the cutting edge from a technology perspective. Cigna employees are not stupid and see the hypocrisy in this sudden change of position. It’s clear that there is an underlying reason he is pushing this so hard (tax breaks and trying to get long tenured people to quit so the company doesn’t have to pay out well earned severance packages). I’m sure all of this will continue to line his pockets with millions as he destroys the company that the actual employees built up. This will especially impact the Express Scripts PBM, which is by far the largest revenue driver for Cigna. The vast majority of Express Scripts employees have worked from home their entire careers and have built this company into the largest PBM in the country that serves over 100 million Americans. A majority of senior leaders and contributors are now looking for the exit doors because of this ridiculous policy that is being enforced . Furthermore, our two largest competitors are embracing remote work to ensure they acquire the best talent. The good news is, if you are looking for a job, there will soon be many openings because all of the talent is looking to get out of here as quickly as possible. If you own Cigna stock, sell it ASAP. If you don’t, short the hell out of it.

Pros

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

Cons

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
