Pros
1. Lovely coworkers, lifelong friendships 2. Scheduling was rarely an issue (until my availability changed) 3. Good first job. Substantial amount of experience to take with you to help advance your career. 4. Free hot drinks and snacks during your shift. 5. Decent benefits but only offered for full time workers.
Cons
I worked at Tim Hortons for over a year and a half. There were a lot more cons taken out of this than pros. 1. Performance reviews were never done for everyone on a 6-month schedule, only a select few were chosen for a potential raise if they had pestered the manager beforehand or because of favoritism. 2. Most unprofessional manager that I have witnessed. Does not take responsibility, expects other workers (especially Supervisors) to deal with everything. 3. When management was notified about my schedule change from full time to part time due to school, I was told that I was unneeded and they preferred to hire someone new instead. 4. Incredibly hard to move up the ladder. 5. Can be really stressful and fast paced. 6. As with all customer service jobs, you will encounter a handful of rude, disrespectful customers. 7. Surprisingly a more dangerous job than I had first anticipated. 8. It's been a while since I had left this job and I still smell like coffee.
