Pros

Good mission: Public Safety. Learn a lot, for an entry-level position with no corporate experience.

Senior Management does not seem to care about its employees. There is no appreciation for the work that the Staff & Senior Staff do. No reward for high performers and some people are held accountable for their mistakes TOO much while others are NOT held accountable AT ALL. As long as you can kiss the senior management's butt, you're fine. Corporate decisions are made without any consideration of the employees. Inefficient systems and procedures. The company keeps acquiring more and more companies while the systems and procedures stay inefficient. Also, the company grows much faster than the employees, adding more and more workload to existing employees. Employees' suggestions on improvements are ignored by senior management. Very high employee turnover. No place to grow. No proper employee training, and employee development is NOT supported. Do not expect to get promoted. Management is more focused on hiring external candidates who never had any corporate experience. Recently it's even more focused on hiring contractors, who are never offered permanent positions anyway, rather than permanent candidates. Lots of blame game going around. Senior Management cannot accept the harsh truth of the company's performance or issues, so middle management is too afraid to tell them the harsh truth. Do not put food in your desk drawer...mice will eat it at night. Also sometimes there are some kind of chemical or smoke smells that can give you a headache.

- Mission - Work life balance - Pay - Modernization of the workplace

Cons

- Every year benefits are reduced with terrible and tone deaf justifications. - Added benefits tend only to benefit new employees. - Perception that the company does not value long term employees (suspension of defined benefit program) - Poor ESPP discount - Lack of transparency on how AEIP bonus is calculated - Workflow tools are still extremely cumbersome after years of promises to fix them - Lack of enforcement of hybrid work policy. Many people never come in and are never spoken to about it.
