Pros
We have an amazing mission to help people create. It's clear that my colleagues believe in our mission and are passionate about helping to fulfill it. One of the biggest pros, aside from having an awesome mission, is that people develop meaningful friendships at WeWork. It is terrific to have colleagues that you can call friends. We get to know each other by doing real work and at our annual ski trip and summer camp. I also enjoy working across a diverse range of departments (designers, engineers, community leaders, lawyers, finance teams, real estate experts, sales leaders...) and with employees from a lot of different countries/cultural backgrounds (Brazil, Italy, USA, Israel, Mexico, Canada, UK...). Finally, my colleagues are also smart, entrepreneurial and quick to adapt to our ever-evolving business.
Cons
We have a lean team at this time, as we continue to re-invest profits back into new buildings, so we can expand our offerings to businesses. This does mean that we have to stretch ourselves, we are not as well staffed as a more established organization. As a result, this is not a place to come if you do not love multitasking, less structured tasks and working hard. There are also times that we are moving so fast that expectations of employees are less clear than they should be. We also need to work on our internal communication so that we all understand the what, how and why behind business decisions.
