Overall a good experience

Pros

- Amazing health coverage (free dental, vision, and medical coverage) - Competitive salary + quarterly bonuses - A pretty cool company that goes beyond just games ( a lot of cool tech related projects and partnered studios/companies) - Unlimited PTO + summer and winter breaks

Cons

- Priorities constantly shifting, feels like while the overall vision is shared the roadmap is unclear - If you're not working directly on Fortnite and you're on one of the other tech teams or studios that have been acquired you might not feel like you're actually part of Epic - Stressful/fast paced - Lacks a central office/community feeling (especially if you've started during WFH) not the same vibe as other game studios that are more centralized

Pros

Great culture, benefits, atmosphere, and coworkers

Cons

There was a period where the company hired a bunch of corporate non-technical/gaming people for leadership roles and they twisted the company and CEOs beliefs to suit their own needs. They slowly brought the department I was in into a corporate environment and got rid of anyone who didn't fall in line with their beliefs despite being new to company and the culture.

Pros

Large in a way that doesn't make job security a worry. Work with many talented people who are specialized in their field. Huge summer break, best benefits I've ever seen, "unlimited" PTO for full-time employees. Access to great tools and equipment.

Cons

Hard to connect on a deeper level with so many people. So many people that it's hard to make an impact, but your work does matter.
