Pros

+You will work with very smart people. HR works hard to make sure that your co-workers are going to be up to snuff. +The product is good and the work is meaningful. Epic is not lying when they talk about the difference you're going to make. The customers will probably like you a lot. +You will make plenty of money. +Madison is a really nice place to live. It is not, however, a metropolis. +If you are an overachiever or very dedicated employee, you will be very satisfied. The work is challenging and usually in large amounts. This was a plus for me.

Cons

-Think carefully about the lifestyle that working at Epic requires. This usually involves travel (for some) and long hours (for most). -Epic is not located in New York, Chicago, California, Hawaii, or anywhere else other than good ole' Wisconsin. You're not going to be able to work remotely, so don't fool yourself. -Epic has very high expectations for their employees. You will be expected to perform at a high level very quickly, with very little training. This place is best suited for those that are able to jump into a project quickly without a lot of hand holding. -Almost everyone is too busy to actually care about what you're doing. If you want people to notice you, grow you as an employee, or care about your personal life, you're going to have to make them. You have to fight for yourself because your advocate is probably too busy to. -Many roles are very political and cliquey. First impressions count a lot and perceptions equal reality.

Pros

Beautiful campus and facilities. Lots of smart, motivated employees who are always willing to help.

Cons

Position is grossly underpaid compared to the rest of the company for the responsibilities and amount of work. Training for TPMs is unsatisfactory and focuses on topics which bear little or no relevance to the actual role. TPMs are given too many customers to effectively manage and are also pressured to take on various internal projects.
