Pros

Interesting work, very talented coworkers, company focus on doing the right thing over following procedure.

Cons

Location (unless you like Wisconsin). While training is good, the amount they expect you to take can interfere with your responsibilities and make it difficult to balance.

Pros

Fresh out of school, you are thrown in complex challenges. It is a sink or swim situation.. if you rise, you are a success. At least in EDI there was a combination of technical and PM challenges to tackle. If you are motivated by constant change and problem solving, this is the place to be. Good place to start in the Healthcare industry.

Cons

Ridiculously stringent non-compete. Constant stress and always putting out fires. Unfortunately, if you are in the IS/EDI role, you will likely be doing more Crisis Management instead of Proactive Risk Management. Management pushes you until you reach your breakpoint. This is their way of testing how much work/stress you can handle. Not ideal for the person doing the job.

Pros

Travel.. not the constantly traveling to the point where you don't know why you pay for your apartment; but the extra travel you can do on weekends to keep you from killing yourself Decent starting salary.. until you do the math of hours worked. Lots of responsibility, which can be a great experience

Cons

You don't know your job until about a month in I got in trouble for averaging a 60 hour a week month once... Higher ups make promises you are expected to keep Any talk that doesn't fit the cult it considered dissent Unrealistic expectations.
