Getting promoted to a team lead is purely based on the hours you log. This means there are a lot of incompetent team leads. Some are very good, some are very bad. It also means you have a lot of people with 1 1/2 years experience managing an entire product and managing people who have been there much longer. Feedback is very minimal. Work-life balance is just plain awful. If you work less than 45 hours a week, you will be considered a "bad" employee (even if you finish all of the work assigned). Senior management cares more about customers than employees. This means if a customer doesn't like you for whatever reason, you will get fired. While the company pretends to be liberal, it is run like they were arch conservatives. People who try to start unions "disappear" for unknown reasons. Information is hidden from its employees (despite what they tell you during staff meetings). Despite what they tell you as well, dissenting opinions are NOT encouraged. Staff meetings are basically them trying to brainwash you with corporate propaganda for 2 hours. Once a person reaches a certain point of experience (typically at the 2 or 4 year mark), management will try to get rid of them.

First, no balance between life and work. Your life is 100% up to your team lead. My team lead is not good at communicating with team members. He always pushed people to work, never motivated people, and sometimes demanded me to overwork until 9:00 pm twice a week. He does not care about people actually. Very very bad management style. Secondly, training is not sufficient to support my work. As a reporting engineer, I need to use Crystal Reports to design reporting templates. However, I did not receive Crystal Report and SQL training. My team lead and a lady on my team gave me many projects which I had no idea how to work with and I am told that I should figure out myself from company's web site and teach myself everything with very limited amount of time. I have to say, the work environment is not supportive. Thirdly, limited space for promotion & job is very boring because employees will never given diverse responsibilities. If you are a software developer, everyday you program, code, debug, QA, and make documentation. If you are a project manager, you travel extensively to implement software. That's all. Fourthly, the location is bad. Verona is not suitable for young professionals to live and work. Epic seems the only big company in greater Madison area. To sum up, I strong recommend people do not work for Epic System if they have other options. If Epic is the only company that give you the offer, you can take it but should remain a proactive job hunter to find other opportunities from Day 1. The turnover rate in Epic is very very high, so it can be a strong evidence to prove the information I provide here is correct. Good luck!
