Pros

Great first job for Implementation staff(Project Managers) and decent for Technical Services to get project management/ consulting experience Pay is high, cost of living in Madison is low Good benefits Awesome Cafeteria Diverse, young co-workers

Cons

Poor documentation of potential software issues. If you need to learn how to do something, you often have to bug someone else. Bad work-life balance. Expect to clock 50-60 hours per week. For Technical Services/ programmers- almost all the development you will be doing is in Cache, which has almost zero application elsewhere. Many Team Leaders treat their team unfairly.

Pros

-Solid compensation and benefits -- started at 55K with a bachelor's and 0 years experience. In 2 years, I've got a ~35% raise as well. -You get a decent degree of control over the projects you will work on, even when you're still pretty new -1 month, paid sabbatical for you and a guest after every five years of employment -Excellent campus & cafeteria -Most applications do pretty meaningful work. Whether or not you see it everyday, you really are making a difference in the quality of healthcare. -Fairly decent job security--people are cut for poor performance, but the company is growing so quickly, we can barely keep up with new hires. -Fast growth potential--many people can advance to leadership positions within their first couple years. If you're not the leader type, you can become a guru in a topic of your interest.

Cons

-In tech services, customer interactions can be pretty stressful -A "have fun" atmosphere is oversold during the interview process. There certainly are fun things about Epic, but little novelties like artwork, free juice and chocolate milk seem trivial and irritating those times when you have to work a 55-60 hour week. I think a lot of people leave Epic with a bitter taste in their mouth because of a mismatch of expectations when they start. Despite the HR advertising, the job is hard work. For the record, I average somewhere between 45-50 hours/week over the past year.

Pros

1. strong and growing. 2. Payment is good.

Cons

1. Not good environment for developers. This company only uses Visual Basic and Cache. 2. Projects are very limited. 3. Working hours is very long. Your team leader expects you can work 50hr/week.
